Giratina is a Ghost/Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon that can change into its Origin Forme via being a particular place, such as the Reverse World or Distortion World or by holding a Griseous Orb. It reverts to its Altered Forme by leaving these areas or not holding the Griseous Orb anymore.

Altered Forme

Giratina is a gray draconic Pokémon with gold half rings circling the back of its neck. Its head has a gold crown-like object surrounding it with two large horns pointing sideways. A thick black stripe runs vertically along the front with red horizontal stripes. It has two large black ghostly wings with red tips that resemble claws. These wings can change shape into arm-like limbs. Its six legs are thick and clawed.

Origin Forme[]

In its Origin Forme, Giratina takes on a serpentine look, with six black ghostly streamers on its back with red spikes at the tips. Its legs are reduced to spikes, and four additional golden spikes appear near the edge of its tail. The horns on its head are now facing the back, and the black vertical stripe is broken into pieces and runs all the way down its body.

Giratina have been seen living in the Reverse World, Distortion World and World Abyss.

Giratina can be a highly aggressive and territorial Pokémon protective of its home, such as when the Giratina in the anime was furious with Dialga and Palkia when it thought they were threatening its home. It also feriously attacked Dialga until it learned the truth.

Giratina has shown a friendly side to those who have helped it in the past.

Legends claim that Giratina appears in cemeteries.

Giratina is believed to be a violent Pokémon, because it was said to have been banished for its violence.

Giratina is able to travel through and control dimensions besides those of time and space. It travels between the Reverse World and real world by emitting a whirlwind from its mouth onto a reflective surface, which creates a portal between the two.

Giratina changes between its Altered Forme and Origin Forme depending on the gravity.
