Lightning Rod (known as Lightningrod prior to Generation V) is an ability that draws in Electric-type attacks to the Pokémon with the ability. It also provides immunity to Electric-type moves (only in Generation V and on).

Weaknesses

If another Pokémon becomes the center of attention, Lightning Rod won't take effect.

Lightning Rod won't raise the user's Sp. Atk if the user is protected from the Electric-type move, such as via Protect.

Lightning Rod won't raise the user's Sp. Atk if the user is a Ground-type. This does not apply if the user is holding a Ring Target.

If the user is holding a Cell Battery, Lightning Rod will activate first, so it makes the Cell Battery useless.

Prior to Generation V, Lightning Rod doesn't draw in Electric-type Hidden Power, Judgement or Natural Gift.
